I’ve mentioned before that I used to run the biggest hobby company in the world so in this area I am somewhat of an expert (even if only self-proclaimed). With that in mind, here is a list of hobbies that you could try and remember that if you like doing it, do more of it!

- Remote Controlled Model Airplanes and Helicopters

- Ballroom Dancing
- Wood Working
- Board Games – a great one for the whole family
- Poker – good fun with mates
- Sculpture – this could be as insane as carving a block of wood with a chainsaw or as ornate as molding some clay on your desk
- Photography
- Jigsaw puzzles
- Fishing
- Origami – cheap and easily accessible (all you need is paper)
- Collect something – shoes, beer bottles, coke cans, watches, stamps
- Go-carting
- Baking – not just for the woman of the house, baking is actually very good fun. Think of it as a mix of chemistry, physics, alchemy and biology. There’s real skill in producing a sourdough pana-de-casa and it goes bloody well with a glass of wine!
